Delete Your Account — The Proof Reserve

This page explains how to request deletion of your The Proof Reserve account (published by Noethon Labs LLC) and the data associated with it.
If you only want to remove specific bottles, tasting notes, messages, or photos — and keep your account — see "Deleting individual data without deleting your account" below.
How to request account deletion
You can request that your account and all associated data be deleted in either of the following ways.
Method 1 — In the app (recommended)
- Open The Proof Reserve on your device.
- Tap your profile icon (top right) → Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
Your account is queued for deletion immediately; no email confirmation is required.
Method 2 — By email
If you can no longer access the app, send an email to privacy@theproofreserve.app with the following information:
- The subject line "Account Deletion Request"
- The email address associated with your account
- (Optional) Your display name in the app, to help us locate the account
We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days and process the deletion within the timeline described below.
What data is deleted
When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed from our active systems:
- Your profile — display name, profile photo, bio
- Your collection — bottle records, photos, fill levels, purchase prices, status, ratings
- Your tasting notes — reviews, flavor descriptors, ratings
- Your social content — direct messages you sent, club chat messages, reactions, friend connections, club memberships
- Your authentication credentials — email, hashed password, OAuth identifiers (Google / Apple Sign-In linkages)
- Your push notification tokens
- Any imported data you uploaded (e.g., CSV imports)
What data may be retained
A small amount of data may be retained for limited purposes, in accordance with our Privacy Policy:
- Backups — encrypted database backups containing a copy of your data are retained for up to 90 days after deletion and then permanently purged.
- Anonymized diagnostics — aggregated, anonymized crash and performance data (which does not identify you) may be retained indefinitely for analysis.
- Legal holds — limited data may be retained longer if required by law (e.g., for tax, fraud-prevention, or legal-process obligations).
- Content shared with other users — direct messages and club chat messages you sent to other users may remain accessible in their copies until they delete it themselves. We can delete content from our server but cannot retrieve copies already received by other users.

Deleting individual data without deleting your account
You don't have to delete your account to remove specific data. From within the app you can:
- Delete an individual bottle (and its photos) — open the bottle → menu → Delete
- Delete an individual tasting note — open the note → menu → Delete
- Delete messages you've sent — long-press the message → Delete
- Leave a club — open the club → settings → Leave Club
- Remove a friend — open your friends list → tap the friend → Remove
- Edit your profile — Settings → Profile → remove your photo, bio, or display name
- Export everything first — Settings → Export CSV lets you download a copy of your collection and tasting notes before deleting anything
